Reciting Amitabha during walking. Reciting Amitabha during walking. Reciting Amitabha during walking. Reciting Amitabha during walking. That means, you have to recite Amitabha during walking, standing, sitting and laying. Recite it until you find it is impossible to stop reciting.

You are now reciting in Seven-day Buddha. Today is the sixth day. How do you do after you have recited for six days? Do you feel that you are single minded without confusion? Have you still got false thinking? If you can be single minded without confusion, you can recite Amitabha during walking, standing, sitting and laying.

It is in vain, even if you do not want to recite Namo Amitabha Buddha. By that time, you do not know the wind blowing when the wind blows. You do not know raining when it rains. That means, wind cannot blow you out; rain cannot drain you off, thus it is called in one entity. That is a state called Reciting Buddha Samadhi.

If you attain Reciting Buddha Samadhi, your body and mind will be detached, and all roots and objects will drop off. As your body and mind are detached, there is no body and nor mind inside, and there is no world outside. Do not say 'I' as a person, even 'I' does not exist. That is to say, your body and mind are detached and all the roots and objects drop off.

What are the roots and objects? There are Six Roots and Six Objects. The Six Roots are eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind. The Six Objects are sight, sound, smell, taste, objects of touch and Dharma. Together with the Six Consciousness, it is called Eighteen Realms. The Six Roots and the Six Objects together are called the Twelve Dwellings.

If your eyes can observe all objects and sounds inside, whether they exist or not, and if your ears can hear all objects and matters without awaring them, then your six internal roots are pure. The six external objects will then automatically not arise. Because of the existence of Six Roots, there are Six Objects. Therefore, if your Six Roots are pure, then Six Objects do not exist. If your Six Roots are not pure, Six Objects will arise. If there is no root, there will be no object. It is to say that the roots and objects drop off. By the time, your body and mind are liberated. If your body is liberated, you will not fear of coldness and hotness, and you will not fear of thirst and hunger. You are not influenced by the states of drinking and eating, hotness and coldness. Your body is truly liberated.

Mind is liberated. Not only body is liberated, but there is not a single thought in mind.

'The entire universe reveals when you have not a single thought.' If you can inhibit the growth of thought, the entire universe and its applications will reveal in front of you.

'The Six Roots will be hidden by clouds as they act all a sudden'. Your Six Roots, i.e. eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind are hidden by clouds even if they act slightly. It is just like a cloud appearing in an empty space and blocking the sunlight. The sun is actually your intrinsic wisdom. As it is hidden, the wisdom is not forthcoming, thus you are in illusion. As you are in illusion, you are not clear. What is not clear? You are not clear what the correct Dharma and the incorrect Dharma, the right Dharma and the false Dharma are. Because you are lack of wisdom, you have no Wise Eye of choosing the Dharma. Wise Eye is the eye to choose the Dharma. Since you have no Wise Eye, you are hit in the East, hit in West, hit in South and hit in North, and hit in all directions. As you are hit on the wall, your head is hit . If you are not hit, you will rush forward, here and there. Oh, you are hit, your head is hit and you feel painful. Then you rush backward, but you are hit again. You are always hit in a cage. In a cage, you are like a bird flying up and down, left and right, front and back. But, you are unable to escape out of it.

We have no Wise Eye, then we do not know what is correct and what is incorrect, same as birds in the cage.

This is the cage in which you fly to and fro, but you are unable to get out of it. We are surrounded by four walls, i.e. liquor, beauty, money and fame. They form a cage on four sides blocking you. Those who indulge in liquor, including drug and smoking will be enchanted. Beauty also refers to all beautiful colour and materials which attract you, so that you are unable to get out of the cage. Everybody likes money. People earn money for food in all countries. Therefore, they are always busy in the world. This is a wall that you cannot pass through.

In Chinese, money is 'The killing atmosphere is intense as two warriors are fighting for gold.' The Chinese character 'money' composes of two characters called weapon and one character called gold. That means, two people are fighting with weapons for the seizure of gold. You kill me and I kill you. It is terrible! 'People commit to quarrel for money'.

People get into trouble because of money. Quarrel means a lot of trouble. 'You can make use the money to get away from the Three Realms'. If you can use the money for merits and virtues, such as repairing pagoda or building temples, and supporting all kinds of Buddhist activities, you can get away from the Three Realms. 'If you cannot spend the money properly, you are difficult to escape from sin'. For those who cannot spend the money properly, more money they have, more sin they commit and more bad karma they create.

Moreover, there are some other good statements. What are they? 'People are asked to donate but they say no money'. If you are asked to donate, you say 'Oh, I have no money. Now, I have not enough money. I will donate till I have enough money. I want to donate. Everybody wants to donate, but I have no money, and not enough money. My father does not give me money'. Then, he wishes to get money from his father for donation. Oh, when he has money, he says he hasn't. In the past, I had a follower who was willing to learn Kung-fu. He had a bank account with a deposit more than seventy thousand dollars. Whenever you asked him to donate, he said he had no money. He said, 'I had a car which was just my wife. It cost me a lot of money; therefore, I could not support the living of a wife. That was why I was not married.' By that time, Mr. Li and Mr. Huang asked him to donate, but he refused and said, 'Right, I do it. I donate three dollars a month.' He had more than seventy thousand, but just donated three dollars. He said he had no money and lived alone. He had a mother who did not use his money, so he could save some money. In the last three months, he died. His money was given to his elder brother unconditionally. He donated nothing, therefore, he got nothing though he had got something.

'When diasters come, you have to use thousands of dollars to get over. Though you say you have not, you can sometimes get it'. If you come across some diasters, or special circumstances or accidents, you have to use thousands of dollars to get over. Though you have no money, you can sometime get it. For example, a rich person who is kidnapped by triad is asked for 2 million dollars for redemption. Though he is unwilling to give, he has no alternative. Do you agree that you can sometimes get it though you have not?

'If I want to discuss with you about doing good things'. Let's say, go to the Gold Mountain Buddhist Monastery to listen about Buddhist sutra. You say, 'I am too busy. I have to study. I have to do homework. I have plenty of household work that can never finish. Actually, I like to listen to the Master talking about sutra, but I have no time, I am really busy.'

It is what I've just mentioned. 'We die as life ceases in a moment. Though you are busy, you have to go'. He was about thirty, and got a peculiar disease. What was it? It was appendicitis. He died when he was in surgical operation. That is so called 'we die as life ceases in a moment'. No matter how busy you are, you have to go.

Apart from money, there is also fame. Fame is another wall which is the most difficult one to break. Oh! People are too angry. 'How can you control me!?' You lose your temper. Temper is very powerful, and sometimes makes you die.
